About UsWhat people say
In the landscape of the new international cinema, Carla Di Bonito stands out as a distinct voice, capable of manipulating form and content with rare intensity. Her works – from the screenplay Nossos Caminhos to the short film Luzinete, already acclaimed on the world stage – do more than simply tell stories; they create emotional worlds in which the spectator is invited to lose themselves and find recognition. Through subtle writing and direction marked by great visual intuition, the Brazilian filmmaker breaks the boundaries between poetic language and narrative cinema, restoring to the image its original evocative power. The success she has achieved at the main international festivals is no coincidence: it is the result of a coherent creative path that embraces introspection and complexity. We firmly believe that Nossos Caminhos has all the potential to become a significant international cinematic work, especially if directed by Di Bonito herself, already recognized for the refinement of direction demonstrated in Luzinete.
Wild Filmmaker Magazine
"Luzinete", directed by Carla Di Bonito, is a poetic drama that evokes the best works of Pedro Almodóvar. We, from the New Yorker Indie Critic's Choice Awards, consider this short film a personal and universal story that deeply moved us. The screenplay and the direction of the actors are two strong points of the "Luzinete" project, and we are convinced that director Carla Di Bonito is also ready to direct a feature film. We greatly appreciate the cinematography of "Luzinete", which confirmed the ambitious artistic identity of the project. We fully support the long list of awards that this work has won. Addressing an existential drama in a cinematic project is always a challenging mission, and in our opinion, Carla Di Bonito achieved her goal with mastery. We eagerly await new works directed by Carla Di Bonito, a director whose multicultural background as a Brazilian based in the United Kingdom we deeply admire. We will recommend that all festival selectors on our team closely follow the projects directed by Carla Di Bonito.
The Newyorker Indie Critic's Choice
"Luzinete" is Carla Di Bonito's graduation film and showcases a promising future for this Brazilian filmmaker, who marvelously balances personal narrative with cinematic technique. Although "Luzinete" carries a personal tone, it never crosses into egocentric territory. The cast is uniformly strong, though it is undeniable that this is Fernanda Peviani's film, and she makes the most of it. Martina Errica's cinematography is both uncomfortable and unsettling, simultaneously intimate and invasive. Errica manages to capture Nete's undeniable charisma, as well as the addictions that ultimately led to her demise.

The Independent Critic
OUR PATHS is not just any script. It is an emotional score written with the ink of memory, pain, and an attempt at reconciliation. Carla Di Bonito proves herself to be a mature author, aware of her language, with narrative mastery and, above all, with rare listening skills - listening to others, listening to herself, listening to time. If filmed with the same delicacy with which it was written, this script has everything it takes to become one of the great Brazilian films of its generation.
